A love that is …? | Rishada Majeed
“Falling in love with metaphors, allegories, sounds, smells, touch… thoughts, concepts and half-formed ideas within minutes of my awakening. Falling in love with these are nothing but a mere distraction.
Falling in love with Al-Majid (The Glorious), Al-Hamid (The Praiseworthy), now that is something there isn’t enough drops of ink or millimeters of paper that is worthy of such an intricate and fulfilling love story.
Wouldn’t you want a love that is compassionate (Al-Ra’uf), one where the person responds (Al-Mujib) to your cries , hears (Al-Sami) you even when you didn’t speak, sees (Al-Basir) your struggles and heals (Al-Shafi) you even when the triage tagged you with black for whom death is imminent.
When I take my last breaths, I pray that the air is laced with you. That You are happy, pleased and Love me as I do/am with you Ya-Rabb. (Ameen)”
