UPDATE: Get on MAC’s new COVID-19 Vaccine Standby List

,

Mississauga – May 1st, 2021, The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is pleased to announce the success of the mobile vaccination clinic at MAC ICCO in the first two days since its launch. The clinic started gradual dosage administration for 5 hours on both days and administered 100% of its planned vaccinations.

Beginning Sunday May 2nd, the clinic will run for 8 hours administering vaccines at maximum capacity. Clinic hours will vary between day and evening hours to serve more people. The clinic has special accommodations for those who chose private administration of the vaccine. The clinic is administering the first-dose of the Moderna vaccine for residents 18 years and older in hot spot postal codes in Peel. Peel Public Health (PPH) is responsible for managing and overseeing the registration, distribution and administration of vaccines in this mobile clinic and the entire region.

Effective Sunday May 2, 2021, at 10am MAC will be posting a vaccine standby list for the clinic on its website at (www.macnet.ca/vaccine-standby). Peel residents in hot spot regions who are 18 years and over are eligible to sign-up to the standby list, to help fill gaps caused by cancellations or missed appointments in a manner that is fair and equitable and to reduce, to the extent possible, vaccine wastage.

The standby list will open daily at 10am, for a limited number of registrants. The form will close when the spots are filled. Those who successfully sign-up to the standby list will receive an email with details on the next steps. Throughout the day, as the numbers of cancellations unfold, registrants on the list will be contacted to come 30 minutes before closing time for a vaccination appointment. As such, actual vaccination appointments will be limited and being on the standby list does not guarantee an appointment due to the limited supply of vaccines. Please do not come to the site without a confirmed appointment.

This standby system will help more people access vaccination and minimize waste. If you would like to receive MAC vaccination clinic updates please sign up here.
