MAC ANNOUNCES EID AL-ADHA 1443 Saturday July 9th, 2022

Mississauga | June 29, 2022

The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is pleased to announce that the first Day of Eid Al-Adha will be Saturday, July 9, 2022, the Day after Arafah. MAC adheres to the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) criteria in determining the date of Eidul Adha, which will be contingent on the announcement by the Hajj authorities in Makkah of the day of ‘Arafah, in which case Eidul Adha will be the day following the day of ‘Arafah.

MAC wishes the Muslim community across Canada and Muslims around the world a Eid Mubarak filled with happiness and joy.  As we celebrate these glorious days of Hajj, this is an opportune time for our community to connect to their faith’s history and commemorate the events that shaped the history of the holy places.  Hajj, in essence, is a reaffirmation of the faith of Abraham, whom the Quran called the first Muslim, and a celebration of the final message sent to mankind.
